This EXTRA LARGE pillow is entirely HAND embroidered on light tea-colored 100% organic cotton. Amazingly it takes 2 weeks (80+ hours) with 2 artisans working on it - just to make one of these XL Pillows! It is also unique in nature since each artisan incorporates a certain flair and signature to his/her work. Accented with black velvet piping.

  • Fun Facts: Before being known as the Palmetto State, SC was known as, and had emblazoned on its license plates, the "Iodine State." Johnston, the Hub of the Ridge, is known as the peach Capital of the World (it is located at the meeting place of three river systems). Columbia's Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens provide unique, natural habitats for over 2000 animals across 170 acres. Lake Murray, a man made reservoir, built in the 1930s contains one of the largest earthen dams in the world: Saluda Dam. The reservoir is the supposed home of a mysterious creature dubbed "Messie" which some say is a lake monster. The crescent moon currently on the state flag is a symbol once used when South Carolina was still a British colony. Hardeeville, SC is host to a rare locomotive engine "Argent Lumber Company train No.7 engine." The train has been on dispaly for nearly 60 years as a historic reminder of the city's past as a major lumber producing/shipping locale. The Carolinas get their name from the latin "Carolus" which means 'Charles.' The states were named in tribute to the French King Charles IX. Charleston is the oldest and second-largest city in South Carolina. The longest cable-stayed bridge in North America spans the Charleston Harbor (the Arthur J. Ravenel Jr. Bridge). The world's largest ginkgo farm is in Sumter, SC. The farm, Garnay Inc. plantation, has 12 million Ginkgo trees on over 12,000 acres. In 1954 South Carolinans voted in Strom Thurmon, the first person ever elected to the Senate as a write-in candidate in the general election. Sen. Thurmon went on to become the longest-serving member in the senate in 2003 (41 years, 10 months). Sen. Byrd and Sen. Inouye both surpassed his record a few years later.
