This pillow is entirely HAND embroidered on light tea-colored 100% organic cotton. Amazingly it can take up to one week to embroider one pillow! It is also unique in nature since each artisan incorporates a certain flair and signature to his/her work. Accented with black velvet piping.

• Fun Facts: In an incredible election of 1866, two one-armed amputee men ran for Governor and Lt. Governor on a slogan "two good arms between the two of us." Vermont was its own country for fourteen years, declaring its independence in June of 1777. The nation printed its own currency, gave all men the right to vote, outlawed slavery, and ran a postal service. The official country name was 'Vermont' as was adopted during a convention in July 1777. The country remained an independent nation two years after Washington became president of the United States. Vermont was finally admitted as the nation's 14th state in 1791. Calvin Coolidge was the only President born on the Fourth of July. He was born and raised in Vermont. The first ski race in the country was held on Mount Mansfield in 1934. It was a downhill frenzy where each skiier hiked up to the summit then raced down. Montpelier is the smallest state capital by population in the nation (there are fewer than 9,000 residents). Vermont produces the most maple syrup of any state: over 500,000 gallons a year. Vermont claims to be the birthplace of Snowboarding. Early boarders rode boards called "snurfers" where only a rope was attached to the front of the board for control. Jake Burton, a former ski racer, began pioneering innovations to the sport. Vermont has the highest ratio of cows to people in the nation (one cow for every 3.8 Vermonters). Lake Champlain runs nearly the length of the border between Vermont and New York. It is the sixth largest interior body of water in the nation. A mysterious creature is rumored to live in the Lake. He is apparently a relative of Nessie in Scotland is is affectionately called 'Champ.' Forests cover more than 75% of the state. Vermont's state capitol building is one of the few to feature a gold dome.
