This original design celebrates the beautiful Berkshires area!
This pillow is entirely HAND embroidered on light tea-colored 100% organic cotton. Amazingly it can take up to one week to embroider one pillow! It is also unique in nature since each artisan incorporates a certain flair and signature to his/her work. Accented with black velvet piping.

  • Fun Facts: The author Herman Melville made his home in Pittsfield from which he wrote the novel "Moby Dick." The American illustrator Norman Rockwell made his home in Stockbridge. There is now a museum in his name devoted to his works which also features his original artist studio. This popular museum overlooks the HoU.S.A.tonic River Valley in Stockbridge. Chesterwood was the country home, studio, and gardens of Daniel Chester French, an American Sculptor whose impressive works include the Lincoln Memorial sculpture of seated Lincoln (Washington D.C.) and Alma Mater on the steps of Low Library at Columbia University. Ventfort Hall, a mansion built for J.P. Morgan's sister Sarah in 1893, is one of the over seventy "Cottages" built in Lenox in the late 19th century. Today it is open to the public and the home of The Museum of the Gilded Age. The Cider House Rules was filmed at Ventfort Hall in 1998 and the production helped to repair sections of the great estate. Crane & Company is the manufacturer of cotton based paper products used in the printing of US currency. The company (founded in 1770 and moved to Dalton in 1799) also features a museum of Papermaking which is open to the public from June until October. The Lee Library, est. in 1907, is the only remaining Carnegie Library building in the Berkshires. It was built using marble quarried in Lee, Massachusetts and stands on the site of Peter Wilcox's 1777 homestead. The historic Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington is one of the oldest surviving theaters in the country. It opened in September 1905 and continues to feature year-round music, dance, theater, and opera productions. Adams, Mass. is the birthplace of social reformer Susan B. Anthony. Her home is now the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum which serves to raise public awareness of this remarkable, pioneering feminist and suffragist.
