This pillow is entirely HAND embroidered on light tea-colored 100% organic cotton. Amazingly it can take up to one week to embroider one pillow! It is also unique in nature since each artisan incorporates a certain flair and signature to his/her work. Accented with black velvet piping.

  • Fun Facts: One of the nation's first repertory film theaters began operation in Berkeley in the early 1950s: Cinema Guild. The theater closed in the late sixties but the love of cinema lives on in Berkeley. The Pacific Film Archive, part of the Berkeley Art Museum, is internationally recognized for its film preservation and collection. It is among the most richly varied and comprehensive collections which presents avant-garde, classic Hollywood, video art, ethnographic film, and international cinema. Berkeley is home to 924 Gilman, a committee run, radical safe haven for punk bands. Since it was founded in 1986, many bands have got their start here including artists such as Rancid, Green Day, AFI, and Operation Ivy. Amoeba Music, founded in 1990 on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, is one of the world's largest independent record stores. The original Amoeba Shop draws thoU.S.A.nds of shoppers each year who come to browse the 100,000s of LPs and CDs. Freight and Salvage coffeehouse is the oldest established full-time folk and traditional music venue west of the Mississippi River. Since 1968 it has been a mission-driven non-profit organization celebrating folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, world-beat, and gospel. One of the largest reptile stores in the country, the East Bay Vivarium, is located in Berkeley, CA. Berkeley's historic rose garden boasts 250 varieties of roses on over 3,000 rose bushes. The garden is in its most beautiful state in mid-May, when a Mother's Day rose celebration takes place. Berkeley's William Randolph Hearst Greek Theater has hosted incredible performances by legendary performers. Sarah Bernhardt appeared in a production of "Phaedre"as a benefit for victims of the SF earthquake and fire in 1906. Cal Performances, a performing arts organization based at UC Berkeley, is one of the largest university based arts presenters in the nation. The organization presents over 100 performances annually. In 1970 Berkeley's sister city, Sakai (Japan), gifted the city with a giant sundial which can be seen at the foot of the Berkeley Pier. The gift served as a dedication of continuing friendship between the two cities.
